This took place at Millbank Spice Restaurant in London and all participants had an excellent evening over delicious curries.

IoD course: Company Direction, part II
11 SMFs participated in the second part of this IoD Certificate. The course covered corporate governance, marketing, finance and business strategy.

Networking Dinner with Rory Stear, CEO of Freeplay
A group of 26 SMFs, Engineering Leadership Award Winners and guests turned up to hear this dynamic speaker talk about building a new empire in ‘clean energy’.

IoD course: Company Direction, Part 1
11 SMFs participated in this course, held at Jury’s Hotel at Heathrow. The IoD certificate covers the Role and Responsibilities of Company Directors and the Board, Liabilities within the Law, Finance and Strategy.

SMF Adam Bazire participated in RAEng Executive Engineers’ Programme
Adam spoke to delegates about the procedure for gaining an SMF Award and life at European Business School, plus the history and objectives of the organisation.

Doug Richards is founder and executive Chairman of Library House, a company which advises funding organisations on new investment opportunities in the technology sector.

Recent SMF graduates from business schools joined members of the SMF Committee and other SMFs to be welcomed into the SMF Society over drinks and dinner.

Dinner Discussion at the House of Commons
The Sainsbury Management Fellows and the Engineering Technology Board will be inviting guest from business and politics to discuss the promotion of engineering.

Engineering Leadership Award Winners’ Annual Event
Conducted by the RAEng, the ELA Annual Event was attended by SMFs Chris Ambler, Sam Cockerill, Dan Edwards, Jo Hallas, Trevor Pratt and James Raby. In addition to spending time talking to Awardees and being involved in the programme generally, James Raby ran a new session for Cohort 9, called "Developing Leadership Presence" which was well received, and Trevor Pratt chaired the "Career Options" session on the Sunday morning. This involved Sam, Dan and Jo in giving presentations on their own careers, and what motivated them and persuaded them to make career choices.
