Chris Burnett
CEO of Mesaplexx – Rapidly growing, vc-backed business with its HQ in Brisbane. Mesaplexx is involved in the design, manufacture and supply of superconducting systems used in cellular communications networks.
Was headhunted to take hold of this business and use management skills and experience in this type of concern to generate significant returns for shareholders over the medium term.
- Entrepreneur, previously CEO of Glasgow-based Westica: a telecoms company specialising in advanced point-to-point digital radio solutions. Was also MD of the Silverstone Group (electronics) and ran his own consultancy business for four years.
- As a manager in engineering for Marconi for the first part of his career, Chris wanted to widen his experiences and took an MBA in Switzerland, backed by a Sainsbury Management Fellowship. He moved to Scotland with Westica in 1999, followed by his most recent move, to Australia, in 2003.
- Chris says that the SMF network allows him to keep in touch with like-minded individuals and share experiences and ideas.
