Currently: Clear Alternative, Owner

Clear Alternative performs critical business development work for early-stage companies in the clean energy, waste or environmental sectors.

Usually performed on an interim basis, our services include market study and research, business planning, fund/grant raising, project and general management.

Current/recent clients include Partnerships for Renewables, Carbon Trust Enterprises and Sterecycle.

 

Jan 2004-Apr 2006: Centrica (British Gas Business), Head of Business Development

Responsible for SME NPD, Marketing, Propositions, Data and Customer Experience Teams.

Brought 4 products to market within 15 months with a projected value of £70m.

Combined sales, churn, volume and value across all datasets and channels, enabling segmentation of the customer base.

 

Jan 2001 – Oct 2003: Future Forests (now CarbonNeutral Company), Business Development and Operations Director

Raised Finance (£1.35m in 2001)

Constructed and implemented Ops strategy as a cornerstone of the brand, then outsourced it

Screened and invested in international low-carbon and clean energy projects

 

Mar 1998 – Jul 1999: A.T. Kearney, Associate

Founding member of Innovation and Product Development Practice, leading large teams at client sites. Major projects at Rolls-Royce, M&S.

 

Nov 1993 – Mar 1998: Scientific Generics, Senior Consultant

Project Manager in Product Development skill group.

Sold and managed product development and technical consultancy assignments for major organisations in the US and Western Europe
