- Managing director of Advanced Valve Technologies, using advanced techniques to lead the way in valve design and manufacture for the world-wide off-shore and chemical industries. In its second year, his company is experiencing high growth following a period of research and development. - David enjoys combining his engineering background with his commercial skills, representing the interface between science and commercial application
- Before embarking on his MBA to enhance his management skills, David spent several years in IT formally with IBM then Madge Networks where he first tasted life in a fast growing export focussed environment
- Post business school, David spent two years consolidating his knowledge and applying his skills in a wide range of business scenarios as a management consultant for LEK
- Returning to a more hands-on creative environment, David then spent two and a half years in Italy as Chief Operating Officer of Moda 121, developing software for the early e-commerce market
- On applying to business school, David found details about the Sainsbury Management Fellows on the internet and successfully applied for funding for his MBA at SDA Bocconi and The Wharton School under an exchange programme
- The Sainsbury Management Fellows not only provided the funding for David’s MBA within a network of like-minded engineers, but the recruitment aspect of the network successfully married his skills to the vacancy at Advanced Valve Technologies
