Richard Atkinson

An experienced engineer with a track record in new product development at Ford, Richard has used his MBA to move into technology commercialisation, working with start-ups to bring them from proof of concept to fist round of Venture Capital. His focus is on transforming high technology into profitable businesses.

Richard runs Second Mile, a 'Venture Catalyst' which provides experienced leadership to early stage technology companies.
Richard's most recent start-up, Opscape Ltd, secured VC funding and is selling its data visualisation software to the retail sector.
Immediately following his MBA, Richard worked in business development for a fuel cell technology company.
Prior to the MBA, Richard worked in Germany as part of the launch team for the Ford Focus, Car of the Year 1999, where he had responsibility for the car’s powertrain control system.
Richard is a keen kayaker and in 2002 completed a solo unsupported circumnavigation of Britain, a four-month journey of over 2,000 miles.
